In this image the left brain mirrors the movement and shapes of the wool in the right. In fact, the brain’s ability to mimic is harnessed by mirror neurons, one of the most important findings in modern neuroscience. They allow us to unconsciously simulate someone else’s movements or feelings. We internally empathise with what someone else is doing or feeling. Without them we couldn’t be magically transported into the world of a film or book.
