The network of arteries which supplies blood to the brain is called the Circle of Willis. However, not all of us possess the classical model established by English physician, Thomas Willis (1621-1675). In a study of nearly 1,500 brains, his symmetrical arrangement of arteries is only seen in around a third of cases.
