À la recherche du temps perdu

This brain-rose encircles an Alzheimer’s diagnostic clock (in which patients often ‘scrunch up’ numbers), a poignant metaphor for the distortion of time – and night and day – that accompanies the condition. The internal red elements represent the hippocampus (formation of new memories) and entorhinal cortex (memory, perception of time) where atrophy occurs early in the disease.
