This image depicts the role of sleep in motor memory and recovery after stroke. The anatomical features are the thalamo-hippocampal -cortical networks in the brain which convert repeated movement to motor memory during sleep. In a nutshell: repeated exercises consolidate by a good night's sleep are the best route to recovery.
